Physical Therapy
Our physical therapy program aims to help patients regain movement and mobility, increase their independence and maximum function through personalized plans. Therapists will work with you to improve your balance, strength, ability to walk, go and down stairs, endurance and assist you in determining what adaptive equipment is needed if necessary.
Speech Therapy
Speech therapy services are available to patients recovering from stroke, brain injury or muscular disorders. Whether your goal is to improve your quality of speech, re-educate your vocal muscles or control a swallowing disorder, licensed therapists are here to guide you through a personalized recovery experience. Speech therapy may also assist the patient with cognitive processes such as problem solving and memory.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy aims to restore patients to daily living activities after an accident, illness or surgery. Saint Francis Hospital’s occupational therapy programs are designed with the patient in mind, and include customized therapy plans which may include manual treatment, exercise, self-care, physical activities, feeding, grooming, toileting, homemaking skills, perceptual and coordination training, hand splinting, and adaptive equipment training.
Results
Saint Francis Hospital Memphis inpatient rehabilitation team works to provide patients with high quality care. In 2020 our patient outcomes were above the national average in several categories. For stroke patients, 82% of those cared for at Saint Francis return home compared to 73% nationally. For all diagnoses treated at Saint Francis inpatient rehabilitation, 83.5% go home as opposed to 76.28% nationally.
