William Drewry is a family physician and primary care doctor providing patient-oriented care to families in Memphis, TN. Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Drewry currently owns and practices at the Memphis Medical Specialists practice. He has military experience after serving four years in the 7th infantry division aviation brigade as a flight surgeon. Dr. Drewry takes the same urgency and tactfulness to help bring his patients excellent medical care, and most of his illness appointments and consultations are completed within an hour.
Dr. Drewry began his medical education at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences in Memphis. After receiving his degree, Dr. Drewry entered a transitional internship at the Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu. After his service in the Army, Dr. Drewry completed his family medicine residency at the University of Tennessee Family Practice in Jackson, TN.

I know he's gonna retire and that one day and that is going to be a sad day for me. Dr. Drewry has been my primary care physician for most of my adult life and Im 67 years old. There are several reasons for that. He is kind, concerned, knowledgeable about a lot of differdiseases and disorders and easy to talk to. He's caught stuff that I had no idea was a problem, made necessary and appropriate referrals and followed up to see how things went. He's fussed at me without humiliating or degrading me and has always looked me in the eye to say what he has to say, good, bad, or ugly. I truly appreciate him for his professionalism and his humanity to me.

A valet named Tony set the tone for our entire visit. He noticed that I used a cane. So he seated me in the lobby, then phoned my husband to meet him and park the car. He then explained how to get to the doctor's office.and showed us where to go for lunch in the building. The level of cleanliness in the hospital is exceptional by the way!Tony moved our car to door side. He was through for the day and came to doctor's office to give us the key. What amazing customer service. He smiled and was so pleasant. He clearly understands what a good first Impression is all about. The doctor and his staff were very special and well worth the 2.5 hour trip (each way) to this care team. This may be the most outstanding medical visit we ever made.

Dr. Wiliam Drewry is an excellent provider. He shows genuine care for his patients. He listens to and addresses his patients' questions or concerns immediately. In his explanations, he uses words that are common and easy to understand. For treatment, he lets the patient be involved by explaining the different treatment options along with the risks and benefits of each one. This helps the patient to make an informed decision. His professionalism is beyond the average.

The nurse (Cindy McCarver) is very courteous, helpful and informative. She answers all my healh-related questions and maintains a cheerful and positive attitude. When it comes time for me to submit paperwork outside of the office to my health insurance company, she willingly assists me and ensures that it gets done completely and submitted promptly. I have had many PCP's over the years. Dr. Drewry is thorough, professional, works efficiently but does not rush. He recently continued after his last patient and performed a biopsy while I was there since I did not have a dermatologist rather than rescheduling for another day.

Dr. Drewry is one of the best providers I've seen in decades. He is the only provider that I will move to wherever he is because he is that wonderful. He is very professional and always listens to patient's concerns. I don't feel rush when I see him. He is our family doctor. He sees our children and my husband is on his way to change to him. I had the same physician for approx. 40 years and only changed when he retired. Dr. Drewry reminds me of my previous physician in that he takes the time to listen and shows concern for you. You feel like you are his only patient while he is with you. Dr. Drewry is also friendly and makes you feel at ease discussing health issues that might not necessarily be easy to tell someone about.

I keep returning to his office because of his gentle disposition, the wisdom he has in knowing exactly what tests, treatments and medications are needed, and the excellent outcome I have had. My doctor is the best provider I've had in more than 20 years. Not only is he a brilliant doctor, he also understands my issues as a combat veteran as he was a flight surgeon in the military. The first nurse who tried to draw blood was having difficulty finding a vein. Rather than fumble around and stick me over and over she called in another nurse who was more experienced. I have recommended Dr. Drewry to others. I have been his patient since 2095. After being off from work for four months, he was able to collect all the records from other doctors that I had seen, and I was able to return to work the following month, work until I retired, and I think he's one of the best doctors around. He always listens, tells you the truth, and explains the consequences and/or possible outcomes. Most importantly, he has that rare ability to make me feel like I am his only patient and my health and care are paramount to him. Although I moved away from Memphis, I still drive over two hours each way so that I can see him.
