Dr. Melissa Robbins is a family physician with patients in Cordova and Greater Tennessee. She holds certifications in advanced trauma life support, advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support, and advanced life support in obstetrics.
Having graduated magna cum laude from Mississippi College in Clinton, Dr. Robbins completed her medical degree at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. While an undergraduate student, she participated in a study abroad program in Salzburg, Austria, and was recognized as a presidential scholar.
Dr. Robbins has served in a number of educational and clinical positions. Through the University of Tennessee Family Medicine Residency Program, she has received training in dermatology, orthopaedics, obstetrics, and women's health. She has served as chairman and in instructional positions on a variety of family practice boards, including the Residential Education/Advisory Board and Conference Committee.

As a general rule, I arrive early so to deal with any paperwork issues or address anything so that may be happening. I do utilize the online tools as well but being retired military it is habit to arrive early and most time we get taken care of sooner unless there is some type of unforeseen issue the medical staff is dealing with. Dr.Robbins was outstanding! There are not enough kind words that I could express for the care she provided. I had several new issues at the visit and she listening to everyone of them without making me feel rushed OR that my issues weren't important or valid. She showed care and empathy - which was not provided to me by my other physician visit with another entity at the beginning of April. She thoroughly listened to my issues. As a pharmacist, she let me talk out my thoughts on treatment and she offered her insight and suggestions. When I ran into an issue with one of the medications at the pharmacy (due to a national shortage), I contacted her the next day and she had it resolved. To say that I am grateful for her care would be an understatement. I would recommend her to anyone that asked.

Dr. Robbins is the best physician I have ever had the pleasure of seeing, and I have seen more than the average number of doctors due to some chronic illnesses. She is never too busy to spend extra time with you and truly listens to what you're saying and always addresses all of your concerns. She spends time reviewing your other medications to look for any potential interactions which, unfortunately, many doctors do not (and I take nearly 10 prescribed meds per day). She is also very proactive in encouraging me to call back with any questions or concerns, and was even willing to follow up with me when I was being laid off and was concerned about losing my insurance coverage. She is that rare physician who combines the highest level of medical knowledge and diagnostic skills with the compassion and caring spirit to guide them. The office visit does not end until the patient is helped. She is the best doctor I have had in 55 years of life, and second place isn't even close. I give her my highest recommendation.

All of my life I have been the go to person no matter where home/work for help, consoling, or comforting. Taking problems of other on my shoulders. This was the first time in my 60 years that I can remember someone other than my mother take the time to speak with "me" about "me" and the importance of taking time to take care of me. The actions of Dr. Robbins on this day provided an opportunity for healing that far exceeded any pill. The encouragement and reassurance was hard to receive because I've never had anyone stop to say "Lora, you are important, you must take time for you and leave everything and everyone else to take care of themselves for a while. What can I do to make things better for you?" The compassion she displayed was more than I every expected. Dr. Robbins, you are an angel and I thank you for being the person you are and I thank God for you.

Dr. Robbins has excellent bedside manner. Her genuine concern for her patients well-being in all areas comes across, easily. She is always professional, proficient and thorough. Without reservation, I would recommend Dr. Robbins to anyone seeking a primary care physician.

My patient -Provider experience with Dr. Robbins over the years have always been satisfactory. She empathetic, good listener and very easy to talk to . Dr. Robbins is an excellent physician. She was 1 mile from my house when I started to see her. She is now 14.2 miles away since moving to a new office. I am continuing going to her.I also do not like or participate in surveys. Did this for Dr. Robbins and her Staff. Other SFMP doctor's offices are within 1mile of my home. Yet I continued with her.Why are these stupid surveys necessary?
